In 2009, the Acad. G. Chapidze Emergency Cardiology Center commissioned a second cardiovascular catheterization laboratory equipped with a state-of-the-art stationary angiographic system ALLURA Xper FD10 (PHILIPS).

This facility enables high-resolution imaging of the heart and major blood vessels (coronary angiography, ventriculography), which is a key prerequisite for performing invasive and interventional cardiology procedures in accordance with modern international standards.

The Cardiovascular Interventions Unit performs both diagnostic and advanced invasive procedures, including:

Selective coronary angiography, ventriculography, shuntography (after coronary artery bypass grafting), cardiac and great vessel catheterization with manometry and oximetry, angiopulmonography, aortography, cavography and phlebography, carotid and vertebral artery angiography, renal artery angiography, upper and lower limb arterial angiography, visceral artery angiography, as well as diagnostic pericardial puncture.
